These terms apply to the Decompress iOS app. By installing or using Decompress you agree to the points below.
Service
Decompress is a local-first reflection app that helps you record spoken or typed reflections, stress ratings, reminders, summaries, and local patterns. Reflection content stays on your device.
Not Medical Advice
Decompress is not therapy, medical care, diagnosis, crisis support, or a medical device. It is a personal reflection tool. If you need medical, mental health, legal, or emergency help, contact an appropriate professional or your local emergency service.
Your Data
Decompress stores reflection data on your device. You are responsible for keeping your device and backups secure. You can export or delete your saved reflections any time from Settings → Clean Sweep. Deletion is immediate and permanent on this device.
Purchases
Decompress is free to download and use. Decompress offers one optional in-app purchase:
- Ad-Free Forever is a one-time non-consumable purchase that permanently removes the banner advertisement. The purchase is associated with your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple ID.
Purchases are handled by Apple via the App Store. Decompress does not receive your payment details. Refunds for in-app purchases are managed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Ads
The free version of Decompress includes a small banner advertisement on the Home and History screens, served by Google AdMob. Ads do not appear during a reflection. Ads are non-personalised contextual ads served via Apple’s SKAdNetwork. Decompress does not share reflection content, stress ratings, transcripts, or summaries with any advertising service.

Reasonable Use
You agree not to:
- attempt to reverse-engineer, extract source from, or tamper with the app’s binary in a way that violates Apple’s App Store terms or applicable law;
- use the app to harm yourself or others, or as a substitute for professional support during a mental health crisis;
- claim affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement that does not exist.
Changes
If these terms change, the “Last updated” date above will be updated. Continued use of the app after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
Liability
Decompress is provided as-is, without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This does not limit any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under the law of your jurisdiction.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms removes statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
