Decompress is a private three-minute reflection app for iPhone. It helps you speak through your day, save a local reflection, and notice gentle patterns over time.

Common Questions
Where are my reflections stored?
Your reflections are stored locally on your device.
Decompress does not currently store your reflections on a cloud server or send them to an external AI service.
Does Decompress save my audio?
No. Decompress uses the microphone to create a transcript, but the current version does not intentionally save audio recordings.
Does Decompress use OpenAI or cloud AI?
No. The current app does not send your reflections to OpenAI or any external AI API.
Summaries and pattern memory are designed to run locally.
Why does speech recognition behave differently on different devices?
Speech recognition depends on Apple’s speech features, device support, language, region, and iOS version.
If speech is unavailable, you can still type or edit your reflection manually.
How do I delete my reflections?
Open Decompress, go to Settings, then use Clean Sweep to delete saved reflections from your device.
Can I export my reflections?
Yes. In Settings, use Clean Sweep to prepare and share a local export.
How do reminders work?
Decompress uses local notifications on your device. You can enable or disable work and personal reminders in Settings.
Is Decompress therapy?
No. Decompress is not therapy, medical advice, or a crisis service. It is a personal reflection tool.
If you need urgent support, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis support service.
How do I manage purchases?
Purchases and subscriptions are managed through Apple.
To manage subscriptions:
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Tap your Apple ID.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Choose Decompress.
You can also use Restore Purchases inside Decompress if a purchase is not showing correctly.
